But don’t think that you have to face Hickstead-sized fences in order to have a go. There are showjumping classes with all heights of fence taking place around the country every week. In fact the introductory level classes are designed specifically for horses and riders who are new to the sport and offer friendly, flowing courses to help build your showjumping confidence.
So, you’ve seen it on the TV – saddle up and get out there and try it for yourself. It won’t be long before you’ll find yourself saying “that fence is a bit small – can it go up a bit..!”
